Agilus is recruiting for a Project Engineer in the Steel Manufacturing Industry in . Agilus Work Solutions' client is seeking a Senior Process/Project Engineer to join their Project Operations Department. The client is part of a global organization that supplies advanced technologies, products, and services to the metal and mining industries. As a world leader in providing advanced process control technologies, TGI focuses on improving energy efficiency in combustion intensive processes by using its proprietary extractive & optical sensor technology developed in co-operation with its strategic partners. A typical day:
- Perform process and data analysis and modify or optimize technical solutions and processes
- Work together with Sales, review documents and participate in project hand-off meetings to ensure all project requirements are fully understood and that all expectations, deliverables and objectives are clear to all parts.
- Manage the contract requirements and the customer in order to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled, risks are managed, payments are invoiced and received timely, and the customer is well satisfied
- When needed, ensure an onsite customer KOM is conducted with planning, coordination, communication and documentation in order to review and further define project objectives, deliverables, requirements and schedule with the customer, as well as to collect plant information as needed for the project
- Monitor and control approved project budget including labour, material, travel and any other project related cost. Provide updates and forecasts as needed
- Ensure that required project activities (e.g. start up, engineering, procurement, material management, installation, commissioning, performances, closure) are planned, assigned, communicated, executed, monitored, documented and reported as needed in order to deliver quality service to project internal and external stakeholders
- Develop good working relationships with and manage project stakeholders, internal and external, to ensure timely and cost efficient project execution in order to achieve the expected schedule and cost or to minimize negative impacts
- •Assist the Project Operations Manager as needed to maintain and improve projects standards and practices (strategies, procedures and documentation).
- Minimum Bachelor/ Master of Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical, Electrical or other similar area
- Preferably 5+ years related work experience with exposure to the areas of mechanical, chemical, electrical, combustion, process control engineering in various heavy industries (oil & gas, pulp & paper, metals & mining, cement). Experience in the Steel Industry, EAF and BOF steelmaking process will be considered a big asset;
- Proven exposure and ability to manage mechanical, electrical and instrumentation engineering, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting, preferably with international exposure
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with familiarity with mass and energy balances, process modelling and optimization techniques
- Understanding and experience troubleshooting coding algorithms, (such as Visual Basic, C++, Matlab, Phyton, etc.)
- Confident and able to effectively communicate with internal/external customers and comfortable presenting technical content and reports
- Strong strategic thinking, planning and time management skills with a willingness to have a "hands-on" engineering focus
- Able to manage multiple projects at a time, handling issues and decision making in a time sensitive manner;
