Key Responsibilities

  •  Supervise and schedule a small group of individuals (1-4) in a technical environment.  
  • Make recommendations with regards to the equipment to meet the specification if not currently in the lab scope ie modify, new equipment required etc.
  • Coordinate the schedule for all lab testing; measurements, validation, verification and production
  • Performance Reviews on Test Technician
  • Source out / testing supplies and equipment purchase
  • Organize and execute; validation, verification and production dimensional testing.
  • Prepare documentation for review by the customer and various groups within our organization.
  • Complete Calibration as per schedule.
  • Provide efficient operation of CNC & Manual CMM's and other metrological equipment needed to promote accurate dimensional analysis of product.
  • CNC programming interfacing with CAD.
  • Free State alignment using datum scheme f vehicle.
  • Perform 1st piece layouts or dimensional checks on all manufactured components & analyze results.
  • Interpret design output data as required to support 1st piece layouts (i.e. GD&T) and develop dimensional plan.
  • Produce accurate legible and complete dimensional reports for review by the customer and various groups within our organization.
  • Coordinate 1st piece layout reviews.
  • Provide support to external customer, Engineering & Tooling groups on completed layouts.
  • Perform initial gauge layouts and reports leading to gauge certification or rejection.
  • Perform gauge R&R's and generate charts through Minitab.
  • Perform capability studies.
  • Participate in DOE's.
  • Maintain yearly gauge certification and all supporting documentation in Compliant Pro.
  • Maintain yearly equipment certification/verification on small tools and supporting documentation in Compliant Pro.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in the Labs.
  • Return or dispose of all test samples.
     
Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Calypso Software preferred with knowledge of Zeiss CMM
  • 2 to 3 years of Programming experience 
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) with the supplier and various departments within Autosystems.
  • 3 to 5 years in metrology, statistical concepts, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. (DCC-CMM, MCOSMOS, 3D-TOL)
  • Attention to detail - documents will be reviewed by the customer.
  • Organization of parts, records, time and priority setting, deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, ability to initiate and follow tasks through the completion, ability to work with little supervision.
  • Solid understanding in MS Word, Excel, Minitab.
  • Knowledge of various measuring instruments.
  • Flexible work hours when necessary.
  • Proficiency with PC applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize many different tasks.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to gather and analyze information.
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Work in compliance with and support company policies, procedures, work instructions and programs relating to health/safety and environment
  • Provide support and resources in a timely manner to address health and safety or environmental concerns or hazards that require corrective action
  • Have clear goals communicated to for health/safety and environmental protection
  • Review accident/incident investigation reports to ensure that corrective actions have been completed
  • Conduct regular audits of work area(s) to ensure no safety hazards or environmental issues exist
  • Ensure all required checks/inspections are completed as required and any deficiencies are reported to a supervisor immediately.
