Our client, a global leading IT company, is looking for a Kafka Administrator and multiple Kafka Developers.
#1: Kafka Administrator
- Contract Term: 12 months renewable
- Work Location: Toronto, ON / Remote Work
Skills:
- Extensive and Hands on experience in managing a distributed data platform (Hadoop, Kafka)
- Experience with Kafka administration (Kafka Security(ACL, RBAC) Kafka Setup (KSQL, Topic Creation, Connector Deployment), Kafka Monitoring & Operations (JMX) and Platform support)
- Extensive, Hands on and deep knowledge of UNIX/Linux (RHEL 7+)
- Experience in hybrid technology solutions (Java, Spring boot, Spring Kafka or Akka Streams)
- Strong knowledge of specific domain or range of engineering frameworks, technology, tools, processes and procedures, as well as organizational issues .
- Strong knowledge of business/organization, its standards, applications, systems, networks, innovation, design activities, best practices.
- Strong knowledge and experience in own discipline; integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities.
- Appetite for contributing within a complex and critical environment.
- Leadership prowess when it comes to teams or projects; shares expertise.
- Well-honed, in-depth skills and broad knowledge to address complex problems and non-standard situations.
#2: Kafka Developers
- Contract Term: 6 months renewable for another 1 year and beyond
- Work Location: Toronto, ON / Remote
Responsibilities: Support Kafka / streaming development.
Skills required:
- Must have 4+ yrs. development experience
- Min 1-2 years' experience with Kafka (Confluent) architecture and key concepts (stream processing, Streams DSL API, KTable, stateful streaming applications, Kafka best practices etc.)
- Excellent communication skills (written & oral)
- Ability to work independently with strong ownership
- Ability to work within a broader team of developers as a team player
- Strong background and experience with Java (Java 8+) and associated technologies (e.g. SpringBoot)
- Experience with REST API architecture and design principles
- Experience with Git and Git Repository platforms (GitHub, BitBucket Server, etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD build pipelines (Jenkins and such)
- Experience working in agile and giving development updates in daily stand ups
- Good to have Banking or Payments domain experience
