Join our team as an Operations Manager!
The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of integration tasks for all new business opportunities and mergers and acquisitions in Eastern Canada specifically, but will also support new business opportunities and mergers and acquisitions in Western Canada and the US. The position is responsible for the planning, execution, and communication of all aspects of new business and merger and acquisition integration.
This person is the primary communication conduit between our location staff and the applicable HQ resources in the various business departments, i.e., Operations, Procurement, Real Estate & Environmental, Safety, Maintenance, Benefits, Payroll, & HRIS, HR & Labor Relations, Strategy, Business Development, Marketing, & Communications, General Counsel, Information Technology, Enterprise Information Management:, Finance, Controller, Operational Tax, North American Risk Insurance, North America Internal Audit, Performance Improvement, Pricing, etc.
The Operations Manager manages project integration tasks, timelines, and resources to meet delivery requirements and ensure customer satisfaction. Key components of the position are clear and unambiguous communication with internal and external stakeholders, understanding of location-level operations, and a desire to embrace learning how the business departments provide support to locations.
Note that we are open to having the successful candidate work in either Ontario or Quebec.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute, in coordination with operation and the business departments, the expeditious and efficient operationalization of new business opportunities and mergers and acquisitions. This specifically includes looking for ways to relieve AGMs/DMs/LMs of administrative startup activities and improve the operationalization processes.
- Establish positive and professional relationships with the business departments and operations
- Monitor Salesforce and New Business Tracker (Finance) to stay abreast of new business opportunities (conversion and share shift).
- Maintain new business and merger and acquisition integration checklists, SharePoint sites, and OneNote pages.
- Review each merger and acquisition's data site, due diligence summaries, etc. prior to conducting pre-kickoff meeting with SVP/RVP, AGM/DM, and M&A and kickoff meeting with senior leaders and integration team.
- Execute integration (capture and manage assumptions, information requirements, risks, etc., conduct follow up with integration team/business departments, as required, and provide direct support to location(s)).
- After successful start-up, close out new business and merger and acquisition integration tasks and capture lessons learned from COO, SVP/RVP, and AGM/DM.
- Support management of Lost Contract Fleet per Lost Contract Fleet SOP, as required.
- Support management of Fleet Audit process, as required.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 4-year degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years proven experience in passenger and/or student transportation or comparable service industry.
- Prefer 1-2 years' experience in a Location Manager or Assistant Location Manager or equivalent position with management responsibility.
- Solid project management skills preferred.
- Demonstrate leadership, decision-making and team building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (required) and French (preferred).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with others in a team setting.
- Strong business background in financial, strategic, and organizational analysis with the ability to break complex problems into manageable components.
- Proficient computer literacy essential with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and SharePoint.
- Strong leadership skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change effectively and enthusiastically and to manage conflict
